It’s been a big month for 3M in the Middle East. We broke ground on a new manufacturing center in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. We opened a customer innovation center there, and we opened another one in Israel. These centers are designed to showcase the multi-dimensional ways that 3M science is touching, influencing and redesigning how people live, work and play each day.
They’re places in which our customers are invited to visit and actually experience 3M technologies and, by working with our professional teams, to find the best solutions to help their business grow and succeed. That’s how we do what we do, and that’s how we’ve been at the top of our game for 113 years.
3M is an R&D company. We have scientists, researchers and engineers at work in dozens of countries around the world. But what they do isn’t science for science’s sake – they figure out how to solve problems to make companies, homes and lives better.
Because we have operations in more than 70 countries, we can be where our customers are. We see what they see, experience what they experience and work with them to find – or, in some cases, create – the right product or technology to meet their challenges. In the Middle East, for example, that might mean ensuring that workers in the oil and gas industry have the right personal protective equipment to help keep them safe on the job.
We are a company rooted in scientific exploration, and the belief that every problem has a solution. That’s why this recent groundbreaking and innovation center openings were so exciting – because they’re a brick-and-mortar commitment to a better future for businesses and people everywhere.
