I’m always grateful that 3M is involved with the communities where we do business, because it means opportunities for employees like me to offer a hand to people who need it. It is always a highly rewarding experience to volunteer and help others, whether it is painting at a Paint-a-Thon, assisting at a women’s shelter or packing food at the local food shelf.
Recently, my department volunteered at Second Harvest Heartland food shelf in Maplewood, Minnesota. Our team packed eight pallets of food – totaling almost 12,000 pounds! – to be distributed to seniors. This activity was hard work, mixed with some laughter and definitely some team bonding. I look forward to volunteering again, offering a helping hand where it matters.
